NSW vs Queensland Trade Licences: What's the Difference?

Licensing doesn't work that simply.
NSW
In NSW, contractor licences and certificates are issued according to the type of building, trade or specialist work being performed. A contractor licence allows the holder to contract and advertise for work within the scope listed on the licence.
NSW also has different licence/certificate categories, including contractor licences, qualified supervisor certificates and tradesperson certificates.
Queensland
Queensland operates through the QBCC licensing framework.
Depending on the licence, applicants may need to demonstrate technical qualifications, experience, financial requirements and other eligibility criteria.
What about interstate applicants?
This is where things can become particularly confusing.
Queensland specifically has processes for interstate and overseas applicants, and applicants may need to demonstrate that their qualifications and experience meet Queensland's requirements.
Don't assume your existing licence automatically transfers

Whether your existing qualification is recognised
Whether mutual recognition applies
Whether additional evidence is required
Whether your business structure affects the application
Whether there are financial or insurance requirements
